Here’s how Smart Business Executives do Mobile Marketing

Mobile Marketing is one of the most important aspects of digital strategies nowadays. With over 2 billion smartphones in the hands of people, the prospect of mobile marketing has never looked so good. Smart business executives are taking advantages of this marketing technique to increase their sales figures. You can too if you know exactly what to do.

So here are 14 tips to help you do Mobile Marketing correctly and effectively.

  1. Putting a QR code on your print ads can help you appeal to tech-savvy customers. This makes it easy for smartphone users to access your site and use your coupons. Put them on every printed marketing item, including business cards, catalogs, brochures and anything else. With a QR code, an interested customer can instantly find out more information about your products and services.
  2. Ask your friends to test your website, advertisements, and emails. For even more objective input, you may want to consider paying for outside testing services.
  3. Make yourself a mission statement that is more about what your purpose is more than anything else to be successful in mobile marketing. This will make it easier to stay focused.
  4. If you want to see your profits go up, try some mobile marketing. More and more people every day are using their mobile phones to use social networking websites and download apps. Both of these places are excellent choices to market your business. Bring the marketing directly to the customer.
  5. When calling or texting someone, remember there is a live person on the receiving end; therefore, it is important to be considerate of the time in which you call as well as the type of message you are sending. Realize that is an issue and act accordingly.
  6. Good mobile marketers gradually climb up the mobile ladder. This should be something you do as well. Start with short contacts and build your network before you move on to the next step. Try everything you can to reach potential customers.
  7. Even though many people that are using their phones for the Internet text, not everyone will know what the abbreviations mean. If your target audience can’t understand your advertisements, you are wasting your marketing budget.
  8. Offering a way for the recipients of your mobile marketing ads to give feedback is a great way to find out how you are doing and possibly bond with a customer. You may find people telling you to go away or telling you they want more, but either way customer input is too valuable not to garner it at every opportunity!
  9. You need to provide a simplified website for your new mobile customers. A mobile marketing campaign should be built on an intuitive and user-friendly platform that allows the user to view your messages on their mobile device. This can translate in pages that appear more simple to computer users. However, you want your site open for as many users as possible.
  10. While mobile marketing can be difficult, it does have the benefit that you can tailor ads based on location. Mobile marketing has a distinct differential; it knows where you physically are. Because of that capability, there are opportunities to take advantage of location-based applications that are without precedent. Consider what it can do for your business and how a location-based marketing strategy could work for you.
  11. Research your audience. It’s important to know what your target audience needs and wants before you waste any money on mobile marketing. Which are they more likely to use: their cell phones or their computers? If they do use their phones more often, what operating system is on it? If you understand your customers’ needs, you will be better able to fulfill them.
  12. When creating a mobile marketing campaign you must focus on keeping your existing customers as opposed to gaining new clients. Current customers are likely to understand why they receive messages from you on their phone, whereas a potential customer may be aggravated by unsolicited contact. Quite often, mobile marketing that is directed at new customers is perceived as spam.
  13. To assure the emails you send out are effective, make them mobile friendly. Open your messages on different mobiles to make sure they are accessible to everyone. You could also include phone numbers in your emails with a click feature to complete the call, and be sure any provided links are easily viewed on mobile phones. More and more people are checking their email from their phones, and emails should be put together with this in mind.
  14. You should test your campaign on as many devices as possible before launching it. Poorly worded messages will not help you in your marketing campaign. First, send it to your coworkers to see what they think.

Mobile Marketing

Mobile marketing, as you read earlier, is a broad topic that means different things to different people. There is no single definition that stands out. Although, the general consensus is that this type of marketing uses cell phones. By using the information in this article, you can better understand how mobile marketing can work for your business.

Tips for improving your business reputation

There are many factors that influence the survival (success and failure of your business). Your reputation is one of the most crucial of these factors. How you work and relate to your customers as well as your employees says a lot about you. It also gives credence to what people have heard and said about you.

Business reputation might be the only marketing you have

Business reputation might be the only marketing you have

In today’s article, we highlight very important tips for improving your reputation in your business.

  1. Always show up where your customers will be found. If you have customers that go to a location all the time, plan to go there often. When you are where your customers are at, you then have the chance to get to know your customers better, helping you give them better service. A lot of people are more at ease in a social environment, which helps them be more open to you.
  2. Make sure to monitor all social networking sites. Many people use these sites to discuss their opinions of companies. By monitoring these platforms, you can catch any negative comments and do damage control in a timely manner. This is a good way to help your business’s reputation get protected from damage.
  3. Use caution when sharing info on the Internet. You may not know how it’ll be used in the future, so watch out.
  4. Help can always be offered. There are quality businesses that provide services in reputation management. You have a lot to do, but trained individuals or companies can do things you haven’t thought of. So consider hiring a helping hand to give you the support you need in some of these areas.
  5. Don’t indulge in anything that seems too good to true. 99.9% of the time it’s just that – too good to be true. There are numerous sites available offering to provide fake positive reviews and it may seem that all of your competitors are using them to pad their online reputations. Don’t even think about doing this.
  6. Treat people with respect. As your business grows, you are going to get more and more customer interaction. This leads to the occasional complaint, and you must always respond timely. The way you handle things will directly affect how people perceive you.
  7. Have a business mantra that you live by. This will include being honest with the clients that you have. Getting a good reputation relies on being truthful.
  8. Learn to keep your word. If your company promises something, stick to those terms. If you keep changing the terms, you will lose trust quickly.
  9. Be a person that’s personable on the Internet. Simply sending out tweets and updating messages is never successful unless you take the time to directly communicate with your consumers.
  10. Check on your customers after the sales and service deliveries. This is especially the case if your business is larger. They want to feel as though they mean something to you. You may want to try automated systems to follow up on their purchases. You may also provide a feedback form with their purchase.
  11. Give a positive response to the negative feedback that you get. Make sure there are many positive comments about your brand so they will drown out whatever negative comments pop up. Make sure you update with positive feedback regularly as well.
  12. Social media accounts should be professionally managed. Consumers today look to social media to check your business; so, it’s vital your company is seen in a positive light.
  13. To improve your online reputation, see if you can optimize your websites. It starts with the name of your company. Google likes authoritative content, as do other search engines. When they consider you an authority, they’ll be more willing to move up your site in search results.

If you hope to be at the top of your game in the world of business, then you have to manage your reputation. This brings to mind a very insightful quote:

It’s good to work on your reputation in business. Time will come when that’ll be the only thing you have on a negotiation table.” – Uwemedimo Usa

It further buttresses the reason to improve and manage your reputation in business and virtually every other aspect of life.

  18. Hire people that can help your business grow. You will get a much more expansive range of ideas and perspectives from different age groups, as well as from different educational and cultural backgrounds. Do not hire employees who are similar to you. This stifles innovation within your team. This can be a downfall to any business because of the lack of different ideas.
  19. Nothing beats great decision-making. Learn to be a good decision maker. Respected leaders are the ones that can make decisions that change the lives of others.
  20. Believe in synergy. Understand what you want to achieve in life. As well, take account of your business goals. Your goals should line up with each other. You should be able to simultaneously work on both. If you can’t, your lack of enthusiasm for work will show.

An ordinary individual can compromise on these tips, but a business leader like yourself can’t, not unless you want to crash your business. Implementing these tips ensures your client and customer base increases. This translates to amazing profit margins, better opportunities, and business relationships.

Multi-level Marketing

Multi-level Marketing Tips

  • If you have something different to offer, you never know who might be interested. People are going to make their own personal choices, but you must present them with the options that they have to choose from.
  • Before choosing a specific campaign for your multi-level marketing plans, research your options and make sure your affiliates are reputable. You can only make an informed decision about whether or not a particular program is worth your time when you have a really clear picture of how it compensates its marketers.
  • Time spent with your family and friends is a guaranteed stress reducer, so don’t forget to make time for them. You may find that you must schedule more time for business initially.
  • Use any opportunity to you can to expose your product to your target market. People will choose what they want, but if you give them a good alternative they will often pick whatever it is that you have to offer.
  • It is important to be knowledgeable about the product you are marketing. People are more likely to buy from you if you have a genuine passion for what you are selling.
  • Pattern your strategy off of successful role models’ actions. Observe your upline or other prominent people in your organization. Find out what works and use it to develop your own MLM strategy. Patterning your own business approach after those who have gone before you can greatly enhance your own way up the ladder of success. You don’t only have to learn from your own success or failures.
  • Write up a monthly marketing budget. Do some research to find out the requirements for your initial investment.
  • Look into finding other business owners and having them join your network. Salespeople, especially those on a commission-only compensation plan, generally work hard and don’t have to adjust to the idea that getting results produces higher rewards. Business people are more open to responding to network marketing.
  • One thing you may want to consider is hiring an outsource company for your network marketing. You might be limited in manpower and resources and this would help with your advertising.
  • When building your MLM website, consider setting it up as a tutorial. Provide a step by step guide for your visitors to generate more traffic to your site and keep them on your site longer. This will help you generate more interest from your reader and hopefully encourage them to join your network.
  • When you create your network marketing website, design it as a tutorial. Giving step-by-step how-to’s is a proven way to increase the traffic to your site, and increases the number of time visitors will spend on your site.
  • In MLM, make sure that you take a business professional approach. Multi-level marketing is a legitimate business, not a get-rich-quick scheme. You have to put in the hours you’d put into a regular job if you want to make money. Success comes only to those who are willing to put in the time and hard work required of a network marketer. Remember that the more time you are able to devote to your business, the greater your chances of seeing success in network marketing.

You can market your site through paid ads and articles, but these will only get you so far. Although these techniques might work, only well-executed SEO can be effective in boosting those websites to the coveted front page of the search results. Utilize these tips to increase the rankings of your website.

SEO tips for businesses

SEO tips for businesses

  1. When you use SEO techniques to set up a web page, don’t think extra advertising boosts search engine ranking. Advertising will drive people to your site but will not increase your rank.
  2. When search engine optimizing your content, it’s essential to pay attention to the density of your keywords. Your keyword content on any given page should not exceed 20 percent.
  3. Consider using a pay-per-click strategy as a good affiliate marketing tactic. This is the simplest affiliate program to implement, so the pay for each click may not be high, but the total pay can add up quickly.
  4. Be sure to use header tags. CSS can be used to reduce the size of the headers. Headers are essential because search engines enjoy using them to rank sites. Use the H1 and H2 tags to highlight important things about your product or service so that the engines crawl something worthwhile.
  5. View your competitors’ source codes. This gives you information about how they use SEO on their website, and which keywords they use. You’re not going to copy them, but just taking a look around can help your own efforts with developing keywords and phrases.
  6. You can do this by creating robots. txt file, which must be added to the root directory. The search engines’ automatic crawlers check this file and ignore any files and directories listed there, speeding up their progress.

Search Engine

  1. Do not use Flash on a website that you want to search engine optimize. Using Flash will mean that your site takes longer to load and parts of it won’t get read by the search engine spiders and the text in Flash won’t make it into the index. To make a site search engine optimized, the content must be viewable by search engines.
  2. So you can do this all by yourself and use the advice here to help you with SEO. You have access to a broad range of resources to help you along the way. These include great websites and books on the subject.
  3. When fine-tuning your site’s search engine optimization, use efficiently-worded meta tag descriptions that will attract the right viewers. A good limit to set yourself is around 30 words. Don’t let the file size of this page get any higher than 100 KB.
  4. Keep your website fresh and relevant with updated content on a daily basis, or as often as is possible for you. Make goals, weekly and daily goals for yourself and stick to them. Websites that produce fresh content generally appear more useful to search engines than those who barely update their sites. Featuring new content frequently will earn the site a much better ranking.
  5. It may seem kind of obvious, but make sure to register your site with the major search engines. Most people think this is an automatic occurrence. It pays to check these results are still accurate on a regular basis. This search ensures that web crawlers are still finding your web page.
  6. Try not to go overboard when it comes to keywords. Focus on the most important and relevant keywords to properly represent your website. If you want to know what keywords to use, try utilizing analytical tools.
  7. You can have a great site, but none are ever perfect. When you start fixing the flaws on your site, you will increase the visitors you get. In order to draw more visitors, always keep improving your website.
  8. Try not to use too much JavaScript on your page. In other words, Java is something you can choose, but because of the uniqueness of the script. It is possible that web crawlers will not pick up on the site the way you might expect.

HTML

  1. An HTML title will yield better SEO results if you use keywords and phrases in them. Title tags have the most weight with the search engines, so make sure to put your best keywords there. Use popular keywords as a means to generate more traffic.
  2. You need to use anchor text properly when you are utilizing interlinks on your site. There are some words which are to be avoided, though. Learn about what words you should use with the help of websites that explain it in detail.
  3. Placing keywords throughout the content of your blog or website can really improve your site’s traffic by increasing its search ranking. Don’t overdo keywords in beginning passages but incorporate them to optimize search results. Having your keyword in your opening paragraph twice is a solid guideline. After that, you want to place the keywords many times in the following 200 words, making sure that it flows nicely and it doesn’t seem overused.
  4. You might actually be able to get some traffic to your site while your site is ranked on the back pages, but your traffic would exponentially increase as soon as you started to implement the proper SEO tactics. By using the tips you’ve just read this article, you can start to raise the profile of your website.

Importance of a Blog to your online personal branding

Getting noticed and improving the client/customer base is an issue many business owners struggle with today. This is because they don’t focus or they’re just not doing enough to improve their personal brand online. Working on your personal brand online leads to better and more business opportunities, contacts, improved client and customer base, and of course more profit.

Blog

Blog

Personal Branding in a Nutshell

Personal branding is a process of selling yourself by improving your image as a brand. It is not just essential for business owners, it’s equally important for employees and freelancers. For freelancers, it’ll increase their exposure, and lead to a larger client base. For employees, better job opportunities will await them.

The essence of personal branding is to enlighten people of your skills. Why should they choose you and not your competition? People have to know why they should conduct business with you. You have to show them you are reliable. You need to prove to them they won’t regret having or developing a business relationship with you.

To your potential customers, you are a stranger. As humans, we have been wired from birth not to trust strangers. While it may be easy to persuade a couple of people to choose us now and then, it’s getting increasingly difficult as the competition rises.

To make an impact in converting people to your business, you need to work on your personal branding. You can do this in various ways, but we’ll concern ourselves with one. With Blogs.

Importance of Blogs

In a day and age where internet marketing is on the rise, blogs make a lot of difference between success and failure. If you don’t have a blog for your business, you’re already failing. You may not be failing in every sense of the word, but you’re surely headed in that direction.

These days, a lot of people get the information they need about businesses, products, and services from the internet. The bulk of this information is supplied by blogs. If people look up your business and services online and there is no reliable information for them, they stop looking. At this point, they think, your business is not as reliable, efficient or satisfying as your competitor’s. Your competition will be their next choice, you’ll be very unlucky if there’s enough reliable information about your competitor for them to work with.

Nothing gets better simply by having a blog. What you put on it matters. This leads us to…

Content

Ever heard the phrase ‘content is king’? Do you believe it? I believe that content really is king. Loading your blog with rubbish and irrelevant information is a sure-fire way to tank your reputation.

Your blog is supposed to carry useful information about your business, products, and services. Anything that’s totally unrelated to that is a waste – a hit to your credibility.

Before making a blog post, figure out your target audience. Is the post for employers or employees? Is your business a local or global business? Think about these things and create your posts accordingly. You lose maximum effect if your target audience isn’t addressed as they should.

People have often asked if it’s alright, legal even to spy on your competitors. Yes, it is. It’s totally fine, your competitors are most likely doing the same. Go to your competitor’s blog page, see what they’re writing, see how they write, learn from them and what they do. You don’t have to write on the exact topics they’re writing, the point is to learn from them.

Don’t be tempted to copy from them. Plagiarism is a very serious offense and could cause your competition to file a lawsuit. Even if you get away with it which I’m pretty sure you won’t, your credibility and Google Search Rankings will suffer miserably. This, in turn, damages your personal brand image. Instead, take the time to craft finely written plagiarism-free articles. No one said the road to success was sweet and free of hurdles. There’s no easy way to good success.

You don’t have to do the writing yourself. You can hire excellent freelance writers from reputable freelancing platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer. If you know a good writer, you can hire them too. Endeavor to give express instructions about the kind of post you want and they should also avoid plagiarism while applying Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques. If you’re unsure of the articles delivered to you, you can make use of this excellent plagiarism checking tool: Copyscape.

Anyone who comes to your blog and gets reliable and relevant information from your blog will get the feeling you know what you are doing – which of course you are. They’ll know you’re an expert in your field and they can safely start a working relationship with you.

What to do with creating and publishing a blog post

Published your post? Well done. But your work is far from over. You have to promote it on social media. Having social media accounts for your business is another way to improve your personal brand image. Create business/work accounts on social media platforms like our favorites, Facebook, Twitter, including LinkedIn.

By doing this, you also increase your customer and client base.

Crawl Errors that are Hurting Your Search Engine Rankings

As a site owner, you may have come across some server and DNS errors. These errors may seem harmless to you but they’re actually doing terrible things to your search engine rankings. Playing ignorant will only make the situation get worse and you may wake up someday to find your site virtually nonexistent to search engines. For today we’re briefly going over some of the various Crawl Error and what could cause them. Crawl Errors are basically of two types: Site Errors and URL Errors

Site Errors

If Google crawls your site and discovers more than the healthy amount of errors on your site, you will be notified via a message your account. You will then have to look at your Site Errors section on the Crawl Errors page. Here you’re going to find error codes if the three basic errors type comprising Server Connectivity, robot.txt fetch, and DNS error. A green check beside each error indicates they’re in a normal state. Otherwise, you’ll see a box click on it to get a detailed 90-day crawl report.

Crawl Errors that are Hurting Your Search Engine Rankings

Crawl Errors that are Hurting Your Search Engine Rankings

DNS Errors

Although a cording to Google, DNS error will not affect how they connect to your site, you have to take dells with and drastic actions to tackle DNS errors. You need to treat this error as important because it holds the key to accessing your website.

Using tools like Google’s Fetch As Google, ISUP.me, and Web-Sniffer.net can assist you to tackle and solve all DNS errors on your site.

Server Errors

If you are experiencing this type of error, it’s most likely because your site is busy, the search engine can’t access your site or the request for your site timed out. This error is often times due to technical issues on the server’s – the server on which your site hosted – end. Other times it partly due to connectivity issues that you can easily remedy.

  • Keep the loading time for dynamic page request short
  • Confirm you’re not unknowingly blocking Google or the search engine from accessing your site
  • Ensure your server is correctly configured and connected to the internet

Robot Error

First, we have to look at the robot.txt file. What does it do? Robot.txt files are created by the site owner if he doesn’t want certain pages on his site to crawled and indexed by Google. The restricted pages links are pasted in the robot.txt file. Before Google crawls a website, it looks in the robot.txt file for the pages that will not be crawled.if this file exists but can not be accessed, no crawling will be executed on the whole website. Crawling will be shifted until a time when access to the file is possible. If this file doesn’t exist, Google will crawl the entire site.

URL ERRORS

They are very different from Site Errors. How? They only affect specific pages on your site and not your entire website as Site Errors do. These errors include:

404 Errors

This occurs when search engines crawl a page on your site only to discover the page doesn’t exist. Although Google says this about 404’s: “Generally, 404 errors don’t affect your site’s ranking in Google, so you can safely ignore them.”, you can’t.

You can’t ignore them. They may not be a major SEO problem but they are still issues you need to attend to. Most especially if the pages returning 404 errors are important pages carrying important information about your company customers need to know. If that is the case do any of these to fix the problem

  • Confirm the page is published and not saved as a draft or deleted.
  • Confirm the link to the page with the error is the correct link
  • 301 redirect the page to another if reviving this page is not your intention

Access Denied

Google Crawlers will be denied access to your site when crawling if:

  • The Robot.txt file has blocked access to that page or your entire site
  • User is required to log in before they are granted access to your site

To fix this error, it is required that you

  • Confirm the pages in your robot.txt files aren’t meant to be crawled
  • Stop the login page from coming up on pages you want Google to crawl.
  • Use a tool like Screaming Frog to scan your site for pages that require a log in before A granted access

These errors, while uncommon, will cause your search rankings to fall. Keep them in your sights.

Not Follow

This error is sometimes confused with the” nofollow” directive. Special care should be taken to distinguish between these two. The “not follow” error occurs when Google can’t follow the link in question. Often times it’s as a result of Flash and Javascript not responding to Google.

True, these are very technical and don’t sound like real SEO stuff. But don’t let that deceive you, all these “technical terms”, error and issues, play vital roles in your search engine rankings. Knowledge of these errors and how to solve them will take you to heights far above your competition.

Here’s what Google says about their Firebase App Indexing: “Firebase App Indexing gets your app into Google Search. If users have your app installed, they can launch your app and go directly to the content they’re searching for.”

Visitors looking for services you offer to find your app on the results and this leads to great SEO

Moreover, creating a mobile app for your business is an awesome way to get found and grow your business.

3. Improve Your Page Speed

Now, this is one aspect of SEO that a lot of people are oblivious to but one that plays an important role in your search engine rankings. You want to pull traffic to your site, yes, but you also want to keep the traffic there. Slow page speeds will make sure that doesn’t happen more than before, nobody will want to stay on a website that will spend a lot of their time to load the information they want. You can improve your page speed by Optimizing the images on your website, fixing crawl errors, removing unnecessary lines of code, fixing errors in your code, fixing broken links etc.

4. Optimize Your Images

Large images will take a longer time to be loaded on any browser and this slows the overall page load speed of your site. Optimize your images by compressing so their sizes range between 80kB – 100kB (full-sized images) and 20kB – 30kB (a fraction of another image). Images larger than that may take a longer time to load onto a visitors browser. This is frustrating for your visitors. Even you will find it frustrating.

5. Fix Crawl Errors

These are errors that occur while Google or other search engines are crawling your website. Crawling is a process/method search engines use to collate data that will be used to determine your search engine rankings. When Google or other search engines crawl your pages for relevant info and meet errors like 404, server and DNS errors, it hurts your rankings. Though technical theses problems may seem, they usually have simple fixes.

6. Fix Broken Links

Neglecting broken links on your website is very easy, as simple as breathing, but it will hurt your search engine rankings if search engines can gain access to your pages whenever their crawlers come crawling.

If you don’t know where to start looking, use SEO Spider. It is a great tool that makes it easy to on find all the broken links on your websites.

7. Remove Unnecessary Lines of Code

When your code is large and bloated with lots of whitespaces, it increases the size of your code leading to longer page speed that ultimately hurts your SEO score and rankings.

Review your Html, Javascript and CSS codes for these unnecessary lines and remove them. This will improve your page load speed considerably.

8. Fix Errors in Your Codes

It doesn’t say much about your site if crawlers are going to spend much time trying to crawl your pages. Search engines spend resources to power their crawlers, if it’s taking too long to crawl due to bad and erroneous codes, search engines will think your website is not properly managed and optimized which will lead cause your search engine rankings to drop. You can’t afford that. Use tools like W3’s CSS and Markup validator services.

9. Create Videos for Your Pages

Creating videos for your pages is a great way to improve your search engine rankings. If the information on your website can be back up by videos, it improves your credibility and overall SEO score.
